AspenTech are developing this - I've seen an early version. Fundamentally it wraps some of their 'full scope' operator training simulator around a DMC type model.
The user can inject disturbances, fail valves etc. and show how this affects performance (and also show operators that they need to interact with the controller).
It provides way more functionality than DMCplus Simulate.
